Roses are red...

I have several roses now flowering in my garden so I thought I would share the correspondences and uses with you!

Gender: Feminine
Planet: Venus
Element: Water
Powers: Love, Psychic Powers, Healing, Love Divination, Luck, Protection

Roses can be used in fascinations, charms, medicine bags, incense and all sorts of spells.

Roses are traditionally used in love mixtures and are associated with emotions.  Rose hips can be used as well.

Rosebud tea drunk before bedtime helps to induce prophetic dreams.

Rose petals and rose hips can both be used in healing spells, fast luck mixtures and can be carried to bring personal protection.  Sprinkle rose petals around your home to bring calm and peace to the household.

I love to use rose petals to cast a circle for ritual too.

Don’t forget that faeries love roses in your garden too!

You can use colour magic to increase their uses:

White roses – purity and all purpose.
Yellow roses – sunshine, happiness and knowledge.
Red roses - love and passion.
Red and white blended roses - creativity and unity.
Soft pink roses - gentle love and affection between family members.
Bright pink roses – appreciation and love for your family.
Orange roses - passion, vitality, enthusiasm and positivity.
Peach roses - charm.
Purple roses - power, magic and passion.
Dark burgundy rose - to break negativity and work for protection.

Deity references:

Here are just a few deities that are associated with roses:
