Intention - The Seed of Every Dream by Starlit

www.elfwood.com
At the very beginning of January I blogged about the magic of words, as the month of January came and went and now we’re way into February I’ve been thinking a lot about intention.

“Intention is the starting point of every dream…”

Deepak Chopra

Intention to me is the creative power that can fulfil all of our needs, whether for relationships, spiritual awakening, love, confidence, money. Everything that happens in the universe begins with intention. When I decide to write and create a magical working it all starts with intention. In fact when I decide to step outside my door, wiggle my toes, or eat a piece of cake it all starts with intention of some kind!

"You are what your deep, driving desire is. As your desire is, so is your will. As your will is, so is your deed. As your deed is, so is your destiny."
– Brihadaranyaka Upanishad

Think of intention as a seed, it has the potential to grow into a beautiful flower or the tallest of trees. It contains all of the power within it waiting to be released. Intention is an impulse of consciousness that contains the aim of creation and only when you release your intentions into the fertile depth of your full consciousness can they grow and flourish.

Most of the time our minds are caught up in noisy internal and external dialogue – thoughts, emotions and memories rage around our brains second by second. Beyond this is a state of pure awareness. One of the most effective tools we have for entering this quiet mindful state is meditation – meditations takes us beyond the ego-mind in to pure consciousness. This is the idea state in which to plant your seeds of intention.

Once you’ve found your restful state of awareness…. RELEASE! Send your intentions and desires into the universe, a wish, a prayer, writing, a spell! The best time to plant your intention into the universe is during the period after meditation while your awareness remains centred in the quiet field of all possibility. After you’ve sent your intention on its merry way, stop thinking about it. Rest. Go about your day. After each meditation just spend a small amount of time pondering the intention. Gently nurturing it.

Intention is much more powerful when it comes from a place of contentment than if it arises from a sense of lack or need. Stay centered and refuse to be influences by other people’s doubts or criticisms. You know deep down inside that everything will be alright, even though right now you don’t know the timing or the details of what will happen.

I wouldn’t expect a specific result, the universe has a funny of offering your desires to you in a way you had no idea it would or even could! The outcome that you try so hard to force may not be as good for you as the one that come naturally. Live in the wisdom of uncertainty. Intend for everything to work out as it should, then let go and allow opportunities and openings to come your way.

You have released your intentions into the fertile ground of pure potential – and they will bloom when the season is right!
