Ostara Spiritual Growth Ritual

Ostara Spiritual Growth Ritual by Gypsy Willowmoon

What you'll need:

Have your altar set up & already decorated with eggs, ribbons or tea lights in the colours of Ostara.
A sprinkling of herbs - Almonds, Star Anise and Lavender
An egg dedicated to the energy work of this ritual

Ritual Outline:

Walk deosil around the ritual space, sprinkling almonds (success), Star anise (spiritual growth) and lavender for focus

Cast circle by saying

" Around, around, around about,
Good stays in and bad stays out!
I cast this circle,
So mote it be,
Of Air, Fire, Sea & Earth!"

Call the Quarters

Hail East, element of Air,
Strong breezes & cool winds,
clear will, knowledge, inspiration & new beginnings.
I call on you to guard my circle!
Hail & welcome!

Hail South, element of Fire,
Candles, bonfires & rebirth,
passion, strength & focused energy!
I call on you to guard my circle!
Hail & welcome!

Hail West, element of Water,
light showers & stormy seas,
cleansing & calming
wild & free!
I call on you to guard my circle!
Hail & welcome!

Hail North, element of Earth,
Small rock & mighty mountain
stability & provider of food!
I call on you to guard my circle!
Hail & welcome!

Call Deity

Hail Brighid!
I call on you to guard my circle!
I ask for your blessings & strength over the coming month,
As I aim for spiritual growth!
I ask you to lend me your energies,
to help me achieve my goal!
Hail & welcome!
Blessed be!

Hail the eggs energy

Hail Egg!
I call on your energies of freshness, new beginnings, nurturing & growth!
From conception of ideas through to the birth of my goal!
Hail & welcome!

Ritual Content (Visualisation and empowerment of the egg)

Sit quietly and meditate, whilst holding the egg between both hands ( or visualising the egg) to connect to its energies.

Say out loud

" Brighid, hear my call!
I call on you in your aspects of maiden & mother,
asking for your energies of new beginnings, inspiration & nurture,
to help keep me strong & focused!!"

Visualise the egg yolk inside the shell as Brighid's fire of inspiration - see the fire, burning strong, feel the flames flickering & hot aiding your inspiration
and keeping your focus true!

When you are ready call on Brighid again -

" Brighid,
I ask you to lend your energies to my egg,
and mix them with my intent for spiritual growth,
to aid me in my goal this Ostara!"

- Sit, holding the egg between your hands to charge it with your intent.
- Hold the egg between both palms, imagining a white light coming up through the earth, it travels up your torso, down your arms and into the egg.
- Filling it with your intent & Brighid’s energy.
- Hold the image of the fire of inspiration as the yolk,
until you feel the egg is full of energy and intent.
- The egg can now be used on your altar or elsewhere as a tool for focus and inspiration, during your month of spiritual growth.

When you are ready to, release the energies of the egg, Goddess and quarters and close circle.

Hail egg!
I thank you for your energies, and for assisting me in ritual.
Stay if you will leave if you must!
Hail & farewell!

Hail Brighid!
Thank you Goddess for lending me your energies & protection.
Stay if you will, leave if you must!
Hail & farewell!
Blessed be!

Hail North, element of Earth
Thank you for your protection during my ritual!
Stay if you will, leave if you must!
Hail & farewell!

Hail West, element of water
Thank you for your protection during my ritual!
Stay if you will, leave if you must!
Hail & farewell!

Hail South, element of Fire
Thank you for your protection during my ritual!
Stay if you will leave if you must!
Hail & farewell!

Hail East, element of Air
Thank you for your protection during my ritual!
Stay if you will, leave if you must!
Hail & farewell!

Closing the circle

I uncast this circle, 1,2,3
As I say it,
SO MOTE IT BE!

Clear up the mess, if you sprinkled herbs or flowers etc.

NOTE: For Kitchen Witch students Gypsy Willowmoon will be hosting this ritual ONLINE in the Kitchen Witch forum chatroom on Sunday 19th March at 7pm (UK time)
